Cafes in Yarm
Yarm High Street has a café for every kind of morning, from a Portuguese deli and an Italian coffee counter to a New York bagel bar and a handmade doughnut bakery.
This guide covers the best spots for coffee, breakfast, brunch and a quick lunch, including which are open on Sundays.
Coffee
Café Nossa (109 High Street) is a Portuguese deli and café with great coffee, fresh pastries and wine, and it was voted Best Coffee in Yarm by our readers. It opens at 7am Monday to Saturday. Deep North (30 High Street) pairs speciality coffee with handmade doughnuts, all made from scratch. Borrelli (3 Danby Wynd) is an Italian deli and café for an unhurried coffee and panini.
Breakfast and brunch
Bagel Bros (79 High Street) serves New York-style bagels for breakfast and lunch, from classic cream cheese to the BBLT, and opens at 7am on weekends. It's dog-friendly, too. Osbournes (24 High Street) is known for its full English and brunch, and The Mockingbird (18 High Street) does breakfasts, brunch and sharing boards from 8.30am.
For something more indulgent, The Keys, The Ketton Ox and The Black Bull all serve bottomless brunch. Just outside Yarm by Eaglescliffe station, Serino's deli and wine bar was voted Best Breakfast by our readers.
Lunch and sandwiches
Crumbs (72 High Street) is a cosy sandwich bar making sandwiches, breakfast buns, paninis, jacket potatoes and salads to order. It's open 9am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday. Borrelli does paninis to eat in or take away, and Bagel Bros is open until 3pm every day.
Sweet treats
Treats of Yarm (12 High Street) is the family favourite for warm waffles, crêpes, ice cream and traditional sweets. Deep North is the place for inventive doughnuts, and Cooplands (60 High Street) has sold bread and cakes since 1885.
Parking charges in Yarm only apply Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, so parking is free in the evenings and on Sundays. See our Yarm parking guide for car parks and prices.
